Father; check. Super Bowl Champ; check. Future hall of famer; check.

Big heart; check.

Drew Brees has lived a very accomplished life both on and off the field. Not only has he put together a heavily decorated trophy case, including the honour of offensive player of the year, comeback player of the year, and of course a Super Bowl, but he has also won an award with a different kind of importance - the Walter Payton Man of the Year award.

This award recognizes the humanitarian side of professional football. It is awarded to the player that has seen to have given back to their community in a significant way. Being a recipient of the award, Brees has already established himself as one of the good guys in the league.

On Wednesday, Brees furthered his good guy status when he opened up his newest act of kindness. Brees facilitated the building of a playground that is specially equipped to accommodate children with all levels of ability. The park features are all inclusive, and cover all disabilities from mobility to vision.

Brees continues to inspire us with his elite play under centre, but he is also inspiring us on days that he doesn't lace up his cleats and throw on his shoulder pads as well.
