Fans of the popular EA Sports NHL video game series that grew up playing it on a PC rather than a console could see the game make its return to the computer.

In an interview with Shacknews, William Ho, NHL 19’s creative director, was asked about if a PC release date is in the picture for NHL 19.

“We’ll see. We’re big PC gamers ourselves so we’ll see, right? If there is enough demand then certainly we’ll want to cater to that,” Ho said with a grinning smile.

A petition to get the game back on PC already has 1,169 signatures, as of Sunday afternoon. You can sign it here if you’d like.

NHL 09, graced by cover athlete Dion Phaneuf, was the last game of the series to be released on PC. Ten years later, fans are hoping to see the game make its return where it was once the most popular.

This past year, EA announced that Madden 19 would be available to PC gamers.

NHL 19 will be released on September 4th with Nashville Predators defenceman P.K. Subban making his first appearance on the cover.

Are you capable of naming all the cover athletes from NHL 10 to 18?

Still no word yet if big head mode will be making a return to the game.

What do NHL players think of the new features in NHL 19? 🤔 @bardown . #ThumbLeague
