"Come back when you're an All-Star."

Almost four years ago Joel Embiid claimed that those very words were uttered to him by superstar singer, Rihanna. So you can imagine just how excited fans of the Sixers center were when Embiid was officially selected as a starter in the NBA All-Star game on Thursday evening.

Almost from the very moment the announcement was made, everyone seemed to dig up Embiid's old tweet in an attempt to stir the pot between the two.

And it didn't just stop on Twitter. No, fans took to Rihanna's Instagram page, flooding her comments with Embiid tags and messages of #Trust the process.

Embiid was humbled and thankful for getting selected to his first-ever All-Star game when speaking with the media prior to the Sixers game against the Celtics, but after the game the one question on people's minds was whether or not he would be reaching out to Rihanna now that he's an All-Star.

TNT reporter Kristen Ledlow asked Embiid following the Sixers win in Boston if he'd be making the call...and surprisingly, Embiid said no!

Is this some for of reverse pyschology, or has Embiid actually moved on? Your move, RiRi.
