Evgeny Kuznetsov has had a rough go in the media over the past month. One year removed from a Stanley Cup Championship in which the off-season partying was insane, and very well-documented, Kuznetsov has found himself in hot water for this off-season’s activities.

Kuznetsov received a four year ban from the IIHF, meaning he won’t be able to suit up for Russia, after testing positive for cocaine. It also stripped him of his 2019 World Championship bronze medal. More recently, the NHL announced that he would receive a three game suspension for “inappropriate conduct”.

He did not dispute either of the disciplinary actions.

It hasn’t been all bad for the Washington Capitals forward, though, he also had another kid!

Already the father of a daughter, Ecenia, Kuznetsov’s wife Nastya gave birth to a son that they named Fedor. When speaking to the media, Kuznetsov was all jokes, explaining that he won’t be a professional athlete, and will instead be a member of the media because he needs some more friends there.

#Kuznetsov with the jokes when talking about his newborn son. 😅

After a tough off-season, Kuz seems to be doing a little better!
