Saturday afternoon, the Islanders and Rangers squared off in a huge game that would have a major impact on the wild card standings when it was all said and done.

Unfortunately for Rangers fans, their team didn't show up for this one as they lost 7-2 on home ice for their second straight loss.  The win was the Islanders' second in a row and they are one point back of the Rangers and Penguins in the wild card race.

The stats were insane for some of the Islanders' players in the win, which is what you would expect in a 7-2 game.  Rookie Mathew Barzal led the way with 5 points, but he wasn't the only player that had a great game.

Something that stood out to a lot of people was that Barzal, Jordan Eberle and Anthony Beauvillier were the top three point-getters and they all have ties to the Oilers.

Once people started to realize that fact, they couldn't help but rip the Oilers for the trades they made and the return they got for those players.

In hindsight, the trades don't look great, especially when you consider how bad the Oilers have been this season and how bad the players they got back in those trades have been.

At this point, Edmonton fans are probably just hoping no other trades are made, but with the deadline coming up and the team falling in the standings, that might not be a wish they are granted.
