Filip Zadina wants to make the teams that passed on him at the 2018 NHL Entry Draft pay, and by the looks of it, he's ready to start scoring some goals.

The sixth-overall pick in the draft saw his stock fall more than any other prospect before the Red Wings took them with their first selection.

A noted sniper, Zadina was arguably one of the most skilled offensive players in the draft, and on Tuesday, Red Wings fans got to see why many scouts believe his skill set is elite.

You can see why many people believe his world-class release will one day translate to the NHL level and make him a potential 30-goal scorer. His shot is so effortless, and it seems to find the back of the net right under the bar with a quick snap of the wrists in a split-second.

The Red Wings arguably had one of the best drafts in the league with their 10 selections, and also have 10 picks going into next year’s draft.

Detroit finished fourth last in the league in goals scored in the 2017/18 season, only ahead of the Canadiens, Coyotes, and Sabres. In 57 games with the Halifax Mooseheads, Zadina potted 44 goals and finished tied with the third most goals in the Q.

Zadina became the fifth player from Mooseheads to be selected in the top ten of the draft in the last six seasons (Hischier, 1st overall in 2017; Meier, 9th overall in 2015; Ehlers, 9th overall in 2014; MacKinnon, 1st overall in 2013).

It’s widely considered that Zadina will soon sign with the Red Wings and make the team out of training camp.
