Wayne Gretzky has been out of hockey since 1999, and still, even in 2018, some of the most fascinating stats in hockey are about his dominance in the league.

The only problem? We’ve already heard all of them.

At least we thought we’d all of them, but a Reddit user dug up something that really puts into perspective how great he really was. So, since Wayne Greztky retired, the maximum amount of games that a player could have played (Not including playoffs) would be 1,442. It would take Gretzky 1370 games to get to exactly a point-per-game and 1371 games to get below a point per game.

With that understood, if Gretzky played every game since his retirement without a point, he would have dropped below a point-per-game for the first time in the 11th game of last season.

If Wayne Gretzky hadn't retired in 1999, and never scored another point, he would have only dropped below 1 Pt/GP this past season... from r/hockey

This might be one of the best Gretzky statistics since someone came up with the “Greatest Brothers in NHL history” statistic about Wayne and Brent Gretzky having the most points of any brothers in NHL history (Even though Brent only had four points).

Still, just about every single Gretzky stat is pretty fascinating. He never fails to come out on top, even if it’s only by one game.
