Don’t look now Sabres fans but your team is 2-0! We know the sample size is small. We understand that we’re only 2 games into an 82 game season. But after last season, how about we let the Sabres and their fan base enjoy this impressive start.

To highlight the significance of this 2-0 start, let’s revisit the 2020-2021 season. The Buffalo Sabres finished with a league worst 15 wins and 37 points. They had a goal differential of -61, and their leading point getter (Sam Reinhart) had 25G and 15A. It took the Sabres six games to record two wins last season so they’re already way ahead of that mark.

To play devil’s advocate, the Sabres also started 2-0 in the 2019-2020 season where they ended up winning 30 games and finished 6th in the Atlantic. Although it wasn’t a dream season, pretty sure Sabres fans would be elated to finish the year with 30+ wins. Maybe even over 20? Let us know what you’d be happy with Buffalo fans!

As of right now, the 2-0 start is a pleasant surprise, and it has the hockey world giving them some positive attention to start the year.
