The William Nylander signing saga is finally over, with the young Swede officially under contract for the next six years. Luckily for Leafs fans, they may have avoided another saga involving Nylander recently.
CP24 reported that Nylander and teammate Kasperi Kapanen has been involved in a car accident. It was little more than a fender bender, with Nylander describing it as “the other car just turned into us”, and everyone was okay after the event. This opened the door for a hilarious story out of Mike Babcock, describing the time former star defenceman Nickas Lidstrom and teammate Tomas Holmstrom found themselves in a similar situation.
They can joke about it now, but you can bet you wouldn’t have heard that story if anyone had actually been injured. What is with athletes and their vehicles recently?
