The Anaheim Ducks selected Maxim Rybin with the 141st overall pick in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft, but he never ended up playing for the franchise as he returned back to Russia after playing two seasons with the Sarnia Sting from 1999-2001.

Rybin went on to spend the next few seasons climbing the ranks in Russia before he finally landed a KHL contract in 2008 with Moscow Spartak, and is now a member of Severstal Cherepovets. This past weekend, Severstal earned a 2-1 victory over HC Vityaz and it was Rybin who opened the scoring with a fantastic goal.

The Severstal Cherepovets captain turned on the jets and blew by three defenders with some nifty moves, before finding the back of the net for the first time this season and celebrating accordingly.
