Max Talbot played 11 seasons in the NHL, but is best known for the six seasons he spent with the Pittsburgh Penguins. After splitting the 2015-16 season with the Boston Bruins and their AHL affiliate the Providence Bruins, Talbot packed his bags and went overseas to play with Yaroslavl Lokomotiv of the KHL.

Talbot finished the regular season third on his team in both goals (15) and points (36). He also finished tied with former Maple Leaf Brandon Kozun for a team-best +16, and registered 63 penalty minutes, the most among the forwards.

In the team’s final regular season game, Talbot scored his 15th goal of the year and it was one of his most impressive, yet luckiest goals he’s ever scored.

That goal right there is why you keep your eye on the puck at all times and follow through until you hear the referee’s whistle. Even the 33-year-old former NHLer couldn’t really believe that he ended up scoring while lying down on his stomach on the ice. Either way, he’ll take it.
