Freddy Andersen’s season is over, and it ended in flames after giving up 6 goals to the Boston Bruins in a do-or-die Game 7. While some goalies would be forced to try and forget their sorrows on the golf course, Andersen got right back to hockey when he officially joined Team Denmark at the IIHF World Championships.

The goalie, who had a stellar season after facing more shots than any other goalie, strapped on his pads and made an impact early. In Denmark’s first game against a German squad, Andersen stole the spotlight for a moment when he made a save with less than half a period to go. The save kept the game tied at two, and allowed Denmark to eventually win the game 3-2 in a shootout.

What a save from the Danish goalie. Leafs fans will be hoping to see much more of this next year when he slips the Toronto blue and white back on.
