It was the lick felt across the hockey world.
While Brad Marchand has become known for his odd agitation techniques, including licking and kissing his opponents, there was something about his sloppy full face lick led to a chain reaction of disgusted responses and even the league getting involved. Marchand will be licking no longer.
Regardless, he seems to have found his way into the destruction path of opposing fans. During Game 5 between the Boston Bruins and the Tampa Bay Lightning, there were more than a few signs in the audience referencing the lick. While this was to be expected, one fan went above and beyond by wearing an actual dog cone to the game while sporting a homemade Marchand jersey.
Now that Marchand has officially been eliminated from the playoffs we can probably say goodbye to the licking jokes for now, but it was certainly fun while it lasted.
