Just over two years ago Eugenie Bouchard was climbing her way up the WTA rankings, but that quickly changed after she suffered a freak injury at the 2015 US Open. The Canadian tennis star was diagnosed with a concussion after she slipped in the locker room ahead of her fourth round match and it forced her to withdraw from the tournament.

It’s been two-and-a-half years since the incident took place but Bouchard’s lawsuit against the United States Tennis Association (USTA) was finally settled on Saturday evening and the 23-year-old shares a statement on social media once it concluded.

A few hours after she shared her initial statement, Bouchard returned to Twitter later Saturday night and it probably would have been a better idea for her to just stay away for the night since she shared this tweet.

It’s probably not a good idea to thank a juror from your case on social media a few hours after it was settled because it might cause more of a headache for Bouchard and the other parties involved.

However, Bouchard later came back to clear the air and responded to her original tweet by saying the lawyers mentioned her birthday during the trial.

This is most likely the last time we’ll have to hear about this case and hopefully Bouchard will be able to return to the form she was in when the injury happened. At the time Bouchard was the No. 25 seed in the tournament, but now she sits outside the Top 100 at 116 overall.
