Georges Laraque is one of the toughest guys to ever play in the NHL and was one of the reasons for the Oilers’ success during the late 1990’s and early 2000’s.

Drafted in the 2nd round of the 1995 NHL Entry Draft by the Edmonton Oilers, Laraque played the first eight seasons of his career in Edmonton. In 490 career games with the Oilers, Laraque finished with 111 points and 826 penalty minutes.

Ahead of the Oilers’ game against the Ducks on Wednesday night, Laraque took to Twitter to try to get the Oilers faithful pumped up before their first battle in the second round.

The 40-year-old knew how to get Oilers Nation riled up during his playing days and it turns out he hasn’t lost his touch.

Laraque isn’t the only person in Oilers Nation ready for the duck hunt to begin.

The series kicks off in Anaheim on Wednesday night.
