When the Toronto Raptors take on the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday, it’ll be part of a historic broadcast featuring women in every on-air role — the first all-women broadcast in NBA history.

The Raptors announced the broadcast lineup on International Women’s Day, and the game will be aired on TSN at 7pm et/4pm pt.

TSN talent members Kia Nurse, Kayla Grey and Kate Beirness will be joined by Meghan McPeak and Amy Audibert on air. You may already know some of these women from their considerable background in this industry, but if not, no worries — we’ve got you covered.

Meghan McPeak

When the Raptors 905 were founded in 2015, Meghan McPeak became the G League’s first female play-by-play broadcaster by taking that role for the team. Since then, she has been hired by the Washington Wizards in a play-by-play role for their own G League team, the Capital City Go-Go, as well as the WNBA’s Washington Mystics.

McPeak will serve in the play-by-play role for the Nuggets game.

Kia Nurse

Currently a player for the WNBA’s Phoenix Mercury, Kia Nurse is in the middle of what has already been an exceptional playing career with international gold, multiple NCAA championships with UConn and WNBA All-Star honours to her name.

She is also one of TSN’s basketball analysts for Raptors games as well as the ongoing March Madness tournament, and will provide on-air analysis alongside McPeak.

Kayla Grey

A longtime TSN anchor and current SportsCentre host, Kayla Grey should be a familiar face to sports fans in Canada. In 2018, she became the first Black woman to host a flagship sports highlight show in Canada, and she reported throughout the Raptors’ 2019 championship run as well.

Grey will be the sideline analyst for Wednesday’s game.

Kate Beirness

Kate Beirness has been hosting SportsCentre for almost a decade now, making her the de facto veteran of Wednesday’s crew. She has also been a part of TSN’s basketball coverage, including as a sideline reporter for Raptors games.

Beirness will be one of the hosts and panel analysts for the Raptors game.

Amy Audibert

Amy Audibert is an analyst for the Raptors 905, covering their run through the G League playoffs this year. She also works in the same role for the WNBA’s Atlanta Dream. She’ll be joining Beirness as a studio host.
