It’s tough times in New York in the sports world as a whole. The Knicks haven’t figured it out, the Nets are trash, the Islanders are reeling from their loss of John Tavares, the Rangers are rebuilding, the Yankees just got eliminated by nemesis Boston Red Sox, the Mets can’t put it together, and the Jets are nothing special.

And then there’s the Giants, who are debatably in one of the worst positions when it comes to New York-based franchises.

The problem is coming from both sides of the ball, but the Giants offence is particularly disappointing. With the exception of Saquon Barkley’s magic, nobody on the G-Men’s offence seems to be able to get anything going, and that includes debatably the most talented wide receiver in the game – Odell Beckham Jr.

Instead of taking responsibility for his shortcomings (which admittedly aren’t all his fault), Beckham has made it very public that he is not happy with the offensive systems, as well as quarterback Eli Manning.

While Beckham has never been shy to speak out, these particular comments have resonated to some as unprofessional and immature. Others believe that it had to be said. On Tuesday, Giants owner John Mara spoke out against the star wide out.

Mara then continued by leaping to the defence of Eli, saying that the longtime Giants quarterback is somewhat of a punching bag at this point.

Whether you’re on the side of Beckham or Mara, one thing is clear to both. Something’s gotta give in New York, because the Giants are posting yet another supremely disappointing season so far.
