One of the perks of playing hockey in Las Vegas is that endless possibilities and opportunities that present themselves away from the rink. It’s next to impossible to get bored in Sin City, and with the Golden Knights soon starting training camp as the reigning Western Conference Champions, the attention spotlight of the team in the city is only going to increase.
That’s why cross-promotions with the Golden Knights’ Deryk Engelland and NASCAR driver Kurt Busch are plausible. Engelland swapped his hockey helmet with Busch’s racing bucket as the two tried their hands at each other’s respective sports.
Busch, a Las Vegas native, was in town promoting an upcoming race at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. He put on a pair of skates, threw on some gloves, and grabbed a stick to try his hand out on the ice at City National Arena, the Golden Knights’ practice facility.
Safe to say Engelland is a better driver than Busch is a hockey player.
