Not many people within the hockey community had much faith in the Vegas Golden Knights this season, but the 2017 expansion team has done a tremendous job through its first 31 games in franchise history.

Through the first few months of the season, the Golden Knights find themselves one point back of first place in the Pacific Division and are one of just four teams who have less than 10 regular time losses this season as they take a 20-9-2 record into Sunday night’s game against the Florida Panthers.

The guys on the team have done a very good job jelling together after just 31 regular season games and they’re hoping the connection they’ve built with each other in such a short period of time holds off the rest of the season.

One way they’ve managed to stay loose and close as a unit off the ice is through their ping pong matches. Not only do they play against each other a lot, but they also keep an official team ranking board at their practice facility.

Ping pong just isn't Deryk Engelland's thing. 😂 . . (📷: Twitter/SinBinVegas)

Jonathan Marchessault and David Perron currently rank No. 1 and No. 2 on the team’s official ping pong rankings, while Deryk Engelland has been having a pretty tough time making his way up the standings as he sits in dead last behind a blank spot.

As long as the team keeps winning they probably don’t care too much about these rankings, but it’s cool to see the guys having some fun like this off the ice.
