The Columbus Blue Jackets shocked the world on Tuesday when they managed to complete the 1st round sweep of Tampa Bay. While a sweep certainly isn’t uncommon, this 8th seed sweeping one of the best teams of all time in the 1st round is certainly a little more notable.
It was so unexpected, it had one unlucky Habs fan actually eating his hat.
Apparently ahead of the sweep, this fan (likely bitter that the Jackets beat out the Habs for the final playoff spot) promised he would. Nobody thought it would ever have to be something that was followed through on.
Well…
After missing the playoffs, this one has to hurt a little extra. Hopefully for this fan his Habs will be making other fans eat their hat next season.
