We know that things have been tough in Edmonton lately.

If you’re an Oilers fan, it’s not news to you that they can’t find their groove, their GM was recently let go, and fans are tossing jerseys on the ice.

With all this happening, and the Oilers insisting that they still want to be playoff contenders, you can imagine that things are getting pretty tense in Oil country lately.

After the Oilers dropped yet another two points at home tonight, losing 5-2 to the San Jose Sharks, their head coach Ken Hitchcock sounded off about his team’s lacklustre effort.

His comments made it pretty clear that he was not at all pleased.

Hitchcock was brought on after the Oilers coach Todd McLellan was fired in late November, and obviously, is feeling the same sort of pressure that McLellan was in trying to leaf the struggling team.

We understand Hitchcock’s frustration, and while his words were blunt, hopefully they provide the Oilers with the jolt they need to wake up.
