It was a vintage LeBron James performance as he dropped 51 points on his former team, the Miami Heat, in a 113-97 win.

There’s no way that can be easy to go up against, and after Heat guard Josh Richardson picked up his fifth foul midway through the fourth quarter, he had some frustration to get out of his system.

Sometimes, you just have to let a little steam off, but it came at a poor time for the Heat. There was still a slim chance at a comeback when Richardson was ejected — the Heat trailed 99-86 with 6:31 to go. Losing one of their top players couldn’t possibly have helped. (Seconds later, Miami coach Erik Spoelstra would get T’d up as well.)

Although LeBron is LeBron and that’s always going to be hard to go up against, the 9-7 Lakers have been a middling team this season as they’re still beginning to put the pieces together. Just last week, they found themselves in a close one with the lowly Atlanta Hawks — which ended in an exciting exchange of dunks between LeBron and Vince Carter.
