In January, Henrik Lundqvist revealed that he had to undergo open-heart surgery for a heart condition, which took the hockey world by surprise as the goaltender had been expected to join the Washington Capitals.

It has officially been a month since Lundqvist’s surgery, and he took to social media to share an update from “a snowy New York City” bearing good news on his recovery that we’re sure everyone will be glad to hear.

Lundqvist may be a former Rangers goaltender, but it sure tugs at the heartstrings to see the guy back in NYC on his own time. It only feels right! And it’s great to see him out and about as well.

We should note that Lundqvist has yet to officially retire, so here’s hoping we’ll see this guy back on the ice one day in the future!
