The recently formed Hockey Diversity Alliance released its first video with Uninterrupted on Monday morning, with a round-table discussion on racism and intolerance in the hockey community.

All nine members, including Evander Kane, Akim Aliu, Anthony Duclair, Matt Dumba, Trevor Daly, Nazem Kadri, Wayne Simmonds, Chris Stewart, and Joel Ward came together to discuss the issues in a conversation monitored by Canadian film director and former pro hockey player, Charles Officer. Co-heads Kane and Aliu kicked the conversation off by touching on their relationship and explained how it led to the start of the HDA.

The Alliance was formed on June 8th, two weeks after the killing of George Floyd. According to a public statement shared on its social accounts, the HDA's mission is to "eradicate racism in hockey at all levels," and to "be a force for positive change and to inspire the next generation." Aliu issued a powerful article on racism in hockey entitled 'Hockey is not for everyone' just six days before Floyd's death.

Everyone must listen and learn as the nine members attempt to #changehockeyculture. For more information on the HDA, take a look at their social accounts on both Twitter and Instagram.
