Jonathan Drouin took a leave of absence from the Montreal Canadiens back in April and was placed on the long-term injured reserve by the club.

On Wednesday night, Drouin suited up for his first NHL regular season game since April 21, 2021, and didn’t take much time getting back into the swing of things as he opened the scoring for the Habs early in the opening period.

Regardless of who you cheer for, it was awesome to see Drouin step back onto the ice with his teammates and it was even cooler to see him score the game’s first goal; which is his first since February 23, 2021.

Hockey fans celebrated Drouin’s opening goal and were happy to see him back out there.

Welcome back, Jonathan Drouin!
