Philadelphia Flyers defenceman Ivan Provorov is one tough cookie.

The sophomore looked doubtful for a crucial Game 6 matchup against the Pittsburgh Penguins in their first round date after an awkward encounter with the boards in Game 5. But in true hockey player fashion, Provorov suited up. After the Flyers eventually lost the contest, news leaked that their star blue-liner had played through a grade 3 AC separation in his left arm which has a 6-8 week recovery period. Provorov admitted he lost feeling in his arm in the third but played through the pain.

Following the Flyers’ loss, the Russian emotionally stated “as long as my arm was attached to me, I was playing.”

Provorov’s injury comes just days after his teammate, Sean Couturier, revealed he played Games 5 and 6 on a torn MCL. The 25-year-old somehow managed to post a five-point night in one of the more memorable performances in recent playoffs history.

An early conclusion of any season gives fans a right to be upset, but at least Flyers nation can keep their heads high knowing their players did everything they could to win.
