The Vegas Golden Knights are first in the NHL with a league leading 66 points and a record of 31-11-4 after beating the Carolina Hurricanes on Sunday by a score of 5-1.

Colin Miller lead the way with a goal and two assists, while James Neal, Jonathan Marchessault, Pierre-Edouard Bellemare and Brendan Leipsic also tallied for Vegas. Marc-Andre Fleury, who's making a serious case of entering himself into the Vezina discussion, turned aside 27 saves, and moved into 14th all-time in wins at 386, surpassing Mike Vernon on the list. Fleury leads the NHL in save percentage at .946 and is 11-3-2 on the year with a 1.68 goals against average.

The Golden Knights grabbed their 31st win of the season on January 21st in their first season of existence. When the Ottawa Senators joined the league for the second time in league history on October 2nd, 1992, they didn’t register their 31st win until three seasons until April of their third full season in the NHL.

Here’s some of the best reaction from around the NHL.

It's pretty unreal how Vegas has stormed to the top of the league, and they're underlying numbers suggest they're legit, and not just lucky: They sit third in goal differential at 30, 7th in shot attempts percentage (52.1%), 11th in PDO (save percentage + shooting percentage) at 100.96, and have the 7th highest expected goal at 52.9 %. William Karlsson leads the team in goals at 25, good enough for sixth overall in the entire NHL.

The Vegas Golden Knights are definetly for real.
