The Carolina Hurricanes shocked everyone this season by clinching a playoff spot and the biggest bunch of jerks aren’t ready to call it a season just yet. On Wednesday night the Hurricanes pulled off the comeback to defeat the Washington Capitals in double overtime and to clinch their first trip to the second round in a decade.
This year’s NHL playoffs have been strange from the get go so it’s only fitting that the Hurricanes knocked out the defending Stanley Cup champions in the opening round. As a result of yet another shocking defeat, hockey fans were pretty stunned about the final outcome.
It’s been a strange playoffs so far and we’re only through the first round.
However, you play the games for a reason and nothing is ever guaranteed. Especially in the Stanley Cup playoffs.
Hopefully Round 2 is even more exciting.
