In the age of social media professional sports franchises have continuously been pushed to improve the quality of their player announcement videos following large transactions. At first a simple graphic did the trick, but now fans expect a little bit more production value whenever a club announces a new player.

However, we don't know if any fans expect anything quite like Manchester United's newest player announcement. Monday, the English soccer giants finally put an end to a wild transfer saga when they shared a video officially announcing that they had acquired Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal. This thing looks like a movie trailer.

This probably shouldn't come as much of a surprise to soccer fans, as after all, United are the highest-earning club in the work, and they displayed similarly high production values when they announced Paul Pogba back in 2016. #POGBACK

Not all professional sports teams display that sort of pageantry when announcing newly acquired players, though. As some fans have pointed out, Manchester United's historic rival, Liverpool, recently released a player announcement video that looks like it was produced, filmed and edited in a single afternoon by a group of high school students when they introduced Mohamed Salah.

Their marquee signing in the summer of 2017.

To be honest, both this and the Sanchez video are fantastic, albeit for very different reasons.
