New York Islanders fans have already made it pretty clear that they dislike the Barclays Center and their hatred for the arena only grew on Wednesday night during the team’s game against the Vegas Golden Knights.

With both teams set to drop the puck for the third period, they ended up facing an unexpected delay after the power went out inside the arena.

You don’t expect things like this to happen in the middle of an NHL game, but we’ve learned over the years that just about anything is possible in sports. Following the game, players were asked about the unusual delay and Islanders defenceman Thomas Hickey did not hold back.

To make matters worse for the hometown fans, Tomas Nosek broke the 2-2 tie just 3:32 into the third period and it ended up being the game-winning goal.
