Just imagine for one moment that your team won the Stanley Cup. To make things even better, it happened at home. The mug is raised and in turn, the streets are packed. People are partying outside of the arena, hopefully not rioting, but having the time of their life together to celebrate the big win. That’s how you’d probably envision the whole thing, right?

Well, that ain’t how it went down in Tampa Bay! At least for that long.

As a French member of the press pointed out, the streets outside of Amalie Arena were empty just hours after the Lightning’s big win. It literally looked like a ghost town and certainly did not look like a Stanley Cup was just won in that part of town.

Can you imagine what it would have looked like outside of the Bell Centre if the Habs won the Cup in Montreal? Nikita Kucherov shared some choice words for Habs fans after the win but hey, at least they were celebrating like their team was actually in the Final?

Nikita Kucherov did not hold back on #Habs fans after winning the #StanleyCup 😳🤭 #nhlplayoffs

We’re sure fans were out partying in another area of the city but it is surprising to see that no one was there after the big win. When the Cup is eventually won in Canada, you better believe fans will be outside of their arena until the morning.
