When the Montreal Canadiens dealt Alex Galchenyuk to the Arizona Coyotes for Max Domi, a lot of Habs Nation met the deal with bitterness. The 24-year-old Galchenyuk was showing some promise to develop with the Canadiens, so when they watched him go for a guy that had only scored nine goals in both of the previous two seasons, they were understandably upset.

Fortunately for the Habs, fans won’t be questioning the deal quite as hard anymore after Max Domi has blasted off to a hot start. In fact, he’s off to a hotter start than any Habs player has been for a very, very, VERY long time.

That’s right, Cleghorn is the name of the guy Domi is chasing. Not necessarily a household name, because he accomplished the feat shortly following the conclusion of World War One.

Doesn’t seem like such a bad deal for the Habs anymore.

It’s not likely that Domi will keep quite as torrid a pace as he’s on, but he was debatably underperforming when he was relegated to more of a grinder role with Arizona.

We’ll see how the son of former Toronto Maple Leaf Tie Domi fares moving forward.
