These NHL playoffs have been weird.

It seems like there’s been a different twist in every round, but the hockey itself aside, the whole thing has taken place in a fan-less bubble, during a global pandemic, in the middle of summer into the fall.

Talk about weird.

They’ve also given us something to look forward to in the evenings after the worst sports drought of all time, and the hockey itself has been entertaining. There’s been some superpower performances this playoffs from some unlikely and emerging characters, and some great performances by well-known stars.

Defensemen have impressed all postseason long, and it’s the first time in NHL history that three blue liners have cracked the 20-point mark.

Miro Heiskanen, John Klingberg, and Victor Hedman have all notched 20 points this postseason, making it the first time that three defensemen have reached the mark in a single playoff season.

We’ll see if this game has another series in it, but either way, it’s been a great showing by both the Lightning and the Stars.
