Nobody wanted to see Jaromir Jagr's season go the way it did, but unfortunately for the 45-year-old, his run in Calgary was short-lived and he's out of the NHL.

#JaromirJagr has cleared waivers and is expected to finish out the season in Europe

Jagr will presumably finish the season with his hometown team (Kladno) and upon returning to Europe, the future Hall of Famer revealed some shocking details about the injury he suffered while with the Flames and why he's going to play through the pain.

As per NHL.com, in order for Jagr to be eligible to play in the relegation-promotion round, he has to play in at least 15 games for Kladno (regular season plus playoffs), so even though he's in pain, Jagr is going to play through it to try and help his hometown team get promoted.

He's the true definition of a hockey player and we hope Jagr gets better first and foremost, leads his team to the playoffs and promotion and hopefully comes back to the NHL.
