As the NHL prepares for an unprecedented “NHL Bubble” in both Toronto and Edmonton, there’s a lot of uncertainty in the air. Health and safety aside, what do you even bring to this life of isolation, in which you have no idea how long it will last?

We saw Morgan Rielly welcoming advice on Saturday, clearly not quite sure what he’s walking into, but one of his former teammates most certainly is.

When asked what he would be bringing to the bubble by The Athletic Hurricanes reporter Sara Civian, James Reimer did not disappoint. Apparently passionate about flying planes, Reimer is bringing an actual flight simulator to hone up his skills while in the safety of his hotel room.

It’s still early enough in the packing stages, but we’re thinking that if the NHL had an award for “Strangest Item brought to the Bubble”, Reimer would at least be a finalist.

Maybe, if he gets good enough, he can fly himself home whenever the time comes to do so. Just make sure there’s room in the cargo for Lord Stanley, right Reims?
