Jaylen Brown explains how shocked he was the moment he found out the Raptors traded DeRozan

A lot of people were shocked to hear the news about the DeMar DeRozan for Kawhi Leonard trade on Wednesday morning, especially fellow NBA players.
 

From Terrence Ross to Damian Lillard, players across the league weighed in with their opinions shortly after the deal became official and many of them were not too pleased. One player who was completely shocked by the deal was Boston Celtics’ Jaylen Brown, who shared his thoughts on the deal with Cabbie on the Red Carpet at the ESPYS.

“I was like ‘what?’ That was crazy, I didn’t expect that, no. DeMar, he did so much for the city of the Toronto and he might be the best Toronto Raptor ever, and now he’s gone.”
 

Brown was also asked what it means to have Leonard in the Eastern Conference now and he didn’t seem too worried about the latest addition.

“it doesn’t really stop anything that we’ve got planned, that we’ve got going on. He’s going to do what he does regardless. Kawhi Leonard is Kawhi Leonard, but it’s a team sport.”
