Jeff Zatkoff was drafted in the third round of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft by the Los Angeles Kings, but he ended up making his NHL debut with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2013.
After spending four seasons with the Penguins organization, Zatkoff returned to the Kings organization last season and appeared in 13 games with the NHL club.
Currently a member of the Kings’ AHL affiliate the Ontario Reign, the 30-year-old Detroit, Michigan native recently got a new mask for the 2017-18 season and he dedicated it to his favourite goalie, Felix Potvin.
Designed by Sylvie Marsolais of SYLABRUSH, Zatkoff’s Potvin inspired mask starts off as a silver mask but turns to black as the temperature changes.
Not only does Zatkoff rock the style Potvin made famous during his NHL career, but he also included a little image of the former NHL goalie on top of the mask.
Felix Potvin played for the Toronto Maple Leafs, New York Islanders, Vancouver Canucks, Los Angeles Kings and Boston Bruins during his NHL career and he was also known for his cat-like mask.
This is the third mask Zatkoff has had designed since joining the Los Angeles Kings the second time around, but this one might be his coolest one to date.
During his time with the Penguins, Zatkoff also had a mask designed that was inspired by Tom Barrasso’s old mask when he was with Pittsburgh.
