It was a triumphant season for the Philadelphia 76ers, who finally made the playoffs after years of their bottom-scraping “Trust the Process” rebuild while watching their young core of Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons soar beyond expectations.

Still, they have loftier ambitions, and for Embiid, that includes the MVP award. He took to Instagram to announce that Trusting the Process has evolved into “The MVP Process” next season with a humorous twist. (Sound on!)

After years of sustained losing and trips to the draft lottery -- which, for Embiid, were injury-marred years -- the 76ers are ready to rise. It’s almost as if they’re being... reborn.

Of course, no Undertaker reference is complete without the Deadman’s cowboy hat and leather coat. Let’s hope that Embiid, one of the NBA’s more active players on social media, continues to lean into this new bit. (Somehow, whatever the set-up or context, we need to see Embiid hit the Tombstone Piledriver.)

Recently, Embiid also appeared on ‘Hot Ones’ to talk about dunking on Philadelphia streetballers, and much more.
