Could this Washington Capitals vs. Columbus Blue Jackets series get any better?

From the very first puck drop on April 12, the two teams have been neck and neck-for-the past five games and headed into today’s contest tied at twos with a series lead on the line. The organizations required overtime for the fourth time in the series and concluded with a game-winning tip from Caps forward Nicklas Backstrom.

Following the match, the ever-so animated John Tortorella bluntly claimed his players will be back in Washington for a series deciding game.

The head coach’s words came just one game after walking out on a postgame press conference following the Jackets’ 4-1 loss in Game 4, in which he claimed his team “laid an egg.”

After taking a 2-0 series lead, Columbus is now in jeopardy of losing a first round series for the fourth time in franchise history. Since entering the league in 2000, Columbus has yet to reach the second round of the postseason.

‘Torts’ has been relatively tame in the 2018 playoffs but you can probably expect some fireworks if the Jackets fail to pick up a win in Game 6. Defeating the Caps after three consecutive losses certainly won’t be easy.
