It’s been a season to forget about so far for the Los Angeles Kings as they enter Tuesday’s game against the Buffalo Sabres with 23 points, tied with the Chicago Blackhawks for last place in the entire league.

However, just because it’s been a down year for the Kings and they don’t look like the Stanley Cup contenders they once were, their loyal fans haven’t jumped ship and are still supporting their guys through the worst of times. Despite playing against the Sabres more than 4,000 kilometres away from home, the Kings had plenty of fans in attendance in Buffalo and one of them received a special souvenir from Jonathan Quick.

The 32-year-old didn’t get the start in the Kings’ net on Tuesday night, but that didn’t stop him from hooking up a young Kings fan dressed as a goalie with one of his goalie sticks.

We saw a situation very similar to this one in Tampa Bay earlier this season when a young Canucks fan dressed up as a goalie for Vancouver’s tilt with the Lightning and he went home with one of Jacob Markstrom’s sticks.
