The British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) is British Columbia’s junior A ice hockey league and it consists of 17 different teams.

This past weekend, the Alberni Valley Bulldogs paid a visit to the Chilliwack Chiefs. With the Bulldogs leading 2-1 late in the third period, Alberni Valley defenceman Connor Welsh helped keep the momentum in his team’s favour by delivering a massive, glass-shattering hip check.

Chiefs forward Kaden Pickering was the player on the wrong end of the massive hit but he appeared to be alright following the play.

The Bulldogs ended up scoring two more goals within a 21-second span shortly after the big hit as they went on to win the game 4-1.
