No one ever likes to come up short at the end of a long, grueling season or tournament, but at the end of the day only one team or person can take home the championship title. During the 2018 IIHF World Junior Championship, Sweden’s captain Lias Andersson made headlines around the world after he tossed his silver medal into the stands moments after receiving it and it looks like his actions are starting to catch on.

The Ashburn Xtreme paid a visit to the Maine Moose in the U18 AA championship on Monday night and the home team came out on top 4-2 to secure the championship. While the Xtreme players lined up to receive their silver medals, one of them was not too pleased with his team coming up short in the biggest game of the year and chucked his silver medal into the stands.

Not only did he give the medal a good toss into the crowd he also left one of the guys hanging on the handshake, which resulted in him watching in disbelief as the player skated away without his medal.
