We’re less than a week away from the 2020 Winter Classic featuring the Nashville Predators and the Dallas Stars and the teams are starting to break in their gear for the outdoor game.
Part of the tradition of the yearly outdoor game on New Year’s Day is the miniseries that comes with it. On Friday night, the second part aired on NBCSN and part of the episode included Juuse Saros revealing his mask for the Winter Classic to his fellow netminder, who happens to be part of Saros’ mask.
The left side of Saros’ mask features a tribute to Pekka Rinne, the franchise’s all-time leader in every goalie category, while the right side has a tribute to Kimmo Timonen, who played 573 games in a Preds uniform over 8 seasons.
Saros put a lot of thought into the mask and it shows.
