A lot of strange things can happen during a hockey game, but a contest between the Toronto Maple Leafs and San Jose Sharks on January 4th may have provided the weirdest moment. Wasting no time at all, Leafs forward Nazem Kadri and Sharks center Joe Thornton dropped the gloves and exchanged punches. Teammates and fans applauded the energetic tout, but a unique event during it made their one-on-one battle more comedic than anything else. It turned out that Kadri accidentally ripped a massive chunk of Thornton’s beard right off of his face.

Kadri later defended himself by explaining he had zero intention of damaging Thornton’s legendary facial hair.

Luckily for Jumbo Joe, Kadri has a solution to his problems. In a recent Instagram story, Kadri revealed a customized bottle of beard repair that includes Thornton’s name on it. It even includes a small ‘A’ in the top right corner.

It doesn’t get much better than that.

Thronton’s beard is bushy enough that he probably didn’t need to apply any sort of product, but he knows where to go just in case. Hopefully the Sharks’ training staff can get ahold of the bottle and preserve it with the actual chunk of hair.
