Kasperi Kapanen has received a bit more media attention while playing alongside Auston Matthews this season and with that, his flow has gained a bit more recognition.

It’s no secret at this point that the 22-year-old has one of the best heads of hair on the Leafs, but his old buddy Patty Laine doesn’t seem to agree. The Jets hosted the Leafs on Wednesday night and Laine did everything he could to get his buddy Kasperi off of his game by telling him to cut his hair. But it was Kasperi who ended up having the last laugh for a variety of reasons: 1) he scored the game’s opening goal, 2) the Leafs went on to win 4-2, and 3) he ended up roasting him ahead of tonight’s rematch at Scotiabank Arena. While addressing Laine’s comment, Kapanen insisted that the Jets’ star is in no place to be making facial hair jokes.

Maybe he has a point…

Laine took pretty much everyone by storm last season after growing one of the more epic beards the NHL has ever seen. He became hardly recognizable compared to the look he rocked from his rookie season, but did manage to notch 44 goals so maybe he should revert back to it?

It’s worth noting that the two won a gold medal together for Finland at the 2016 World Juniors so all of this was simply fun and games. But with Kapanen outscoring Laine across the board, it’s hard to question the former’s new look.
