Media is always a fun day around the NHL. Not only does it mean that the NHL season is right around the corner – hooray! – but it also provides teams and media to gather fun, entertaining, or simply interesting content from the NHL’s players and coaches.

Usually the fun stuff comes from an effective plan from the media members, but other content just falls right into all of our laps. For example, Brandon Tanev’s iconic media day photo in which we’re pretty sure the photographer may have been the ghost of one of Tanev’s relatives.

While this photo is about as candid as it get from now-Seattle Kraken player Tanev, his former Pittsburgh Penguins teammate Kasperi Kapanen decided to have a little fun with his own media day photo on Wednesday.

It seems as though Kap was trying to recreate Tanev’s photo, and we think he’s done a pretty good job. Some may even say he flipped the switch!

Can’t wait to see what next year brings.
