Kevin Glenn has been a CFL journeyman to say the least.

Since coming into the league way back in 2001 Glenn has been a constant around the league. He began his career with the Saskatchewan Roughriders, the same team he just finished his most recent campaign with. With his most recent signing with the Edmonton Eskimos, the total teams he’s had his rights owned by is as follows:

Saskatchewan Roughriders (2001-2003, 2015, 2017)

Toronto Argonauts (Owned his rights for one day in a trade/flip in 2004)

Winnipeg Blue Bombers (2004-2008)

Hamilton Tiger-Cats (2009-2011)

Calgary Stampeders (2012-2013)

Ottawa Redblacks (Although he never played a game, his rights were owned for seven months after being drafted in the expansion draft)

BC Lions (2014)

Montreal Alouettes (2015-2016)

Edmonton Eskimos (Signed in 2018)

Here’s the list of CFL teams that Kevin Glenn has not had his right owned by:

To clarify, Glenn has become the first player to ever play for all nine teams in the CFL. There have been two players before him to play for seven teams, Jason Armstead and Eddie Brown, but none of them have played for all nine.

It takes a special kind of player to be wanted by every team in the league, unfortunately Glenn is still looking for his first Grey Cup. To put it into perspective how many teams he has played for, known professional journeyman Lee Stempniak has only played for one more NHL team then Glenn has in the CFL, and there are 22 more teams in the NHL than the CFL. Jaromir Jagr has also played for nine teams, and he was drafted in 1990.

While it’s not totally clear if this record should be considered impressive, it is definitely ridiculous. The internet had a little fun commenting on the baffling feat.
