Whether it's highlight-reel goals, conspiracy theories, or frightening mascots, the KHL never seems to disappoint.

The most recent news item making the rounds is HC Slovan Bratislava goaltender Jakub Stepanek, who has suspended five games for whacking a broken stick at a referee during a game on Tuesday.

The netminder was ejected with a game misconduct. HC Slovan only has two games remaining on their regular season. They sit dead last in the Western conference of Russia's top league and won't be allowed to dress a back-up on the bench for the rest of the reason. Stepanek's suspension will carry over into the 2019/20 season.
