The KHL playoffs are well underway with just eight teams left in the picture. No. 1 ranked HC CSKA Moscow took a 1-0 series lead over No. 4 Lokomotiv Yaroslavl into Friday night’s game, looking to take a 2-0 series lead back to Arena 2000 in Yaroslavl.

Trailing 2-1 late in the 2nd period, CSKA forward Andrei Svetlakov got a chance to even up the score as a rebound led to a wide open net. However, the 20-year-old Moscow native got a little too excited and did what every hockey player fears of doing when they get a wide open net.

You can bet the youngster thought about that miss all night long. He probably even lost some sleep over it. If you’re going to be denied on a wide open net it’s better to be completely robbed by the goalie than to miss the net entirely.

To make matters even worse for the youngster, CSKA went on to lose 4-3 on home ice. Now the series is all tied up at 1 and it’s anyone’s to take.
