The start of the KHL regular season is right around the corner but before the teams hit the ice for another campaign they’re hosting their own team skills competitions and shinny games as a way to build hype at special fan events.

On Tuesday, Salavat Yulaev Ufa hosted their annual ‘Day of the Fan’ at their home arena and it included everything from meet and greets and autograph signings with the players, a team skills competition, and a Green vs. White game to cap things off. Like we’ve seen in the KHL in past years the teams are always finding different ways to put on a show for the fans. Well, during the shootout competition they did just that.

The goalie was pretty much doomed as soon as former NHL Linus Omark raised his hand and put it down because that’s when the lights went the arena lights with out and all he had to help him was a few green lights, an illuminated hockey stick and a massive spotlight shining down on him.

Just last week we saw some more preseason fun take place at HC Sibir Novosibirsk’s fan event where 22-year-old goalie Alexei Krasikov traded in his goalie stick for a player stick and showed off his silky hands.
